Tony Pichardo
I'm a first-generation Mexican-American student at Rutgers, studying Computer Science and Economics. Currently I work at the NJ Department of Treasury and Partiful. I also serve as the Rutgers University Student Body Treasurer. I also co-lead the alto saxophone section for the Marching Scarlet Knights.
Student Body Treasurer at RUSA. I oversee a $3.5M+ student-fee budget. Most of the job is reading funding requests, watching the spending, and making the numbers visible so people aren't guessing.
In SAS Senate I sit in University Senate and chair the caucus. A lot of it is herding people toward a vote, not writing speeches.
Also treasurer at BridgeRutgers, co-lead of the alto saxophone section for the Marching Scarlet Knights, and team captain for Rutgers Taekwondo.
At Treasury I write Python against real state databases. If it works, someone in Trenton has a shorter Tuesday.
I grew up in Bridgeton, NJ. I'm studying CS and Economics at Rutgers because I like building things people actually use.
At the State Treasury I write software for coworkers who manage public money and statewide assets. The work is building tools that help real users: automating workflows, syncing data, shipping programs people can run without waiting on a manual fix every week.

IBM Datathon, BillBuddy team
BillBuddy was the same idea on a 48-hour clock. We placed 3rd of 53 at the IBM Datathon. That's the team in the photo.
RUSA is public service. As student body treasurer I focus on student advocacy: reviewing funding requests, keeping fee spending visible, and making sure orgs get a fair hearing. Different job from Treasury, same goal of building something people can rely on.
